Remember that traumatic events, no matter how small they may seem to us at the time, contain a multitude of energy (both physical and emotional) that may leave behind a fingerprint if we are unable to fully process and release them.
We don’t always have control over the things that happen to us, but we do know that our bodies are always doing their best to keep us safe and able to move forward. Sometimes we go through unpleasant events or traumas, and even after we feel that we have mentally moved on, our bodies may disagree!
Emotions and feelings are pure energy, and manifest themselves in physical form, creating a wave of vibration in our cells that can even be measured by scientific equipment. Basic things like heart rate, perspiration, and skin temperature all change depending on the emotional state we are in!
So what happens when we get home at the end of a long day, and we feel a little overwhelmed or have physical twinges that we can’t quite identify? This is where a regular grounding and releasing practice comes in! Being able to wash ourselves clean of others’ energies and cut cords that hold us down are key techniques for any empath or HSP.
Human energy is a huge and complex web, and it’s not uncommon for our threads to feel tangled with everyone else’s sometimes. You may be picking up energetic “stuff” that isn’t even yours and not even knowing it, and all that gunk can sometimes cause unwanted effects. Our bodies and brains are being bombarded with energetic signals from all directions, and for some of us, that can take a toll on our health and well being.
