Embodying Infinite Potential

As I was thinking about the next guided meditation I wanted to create, I kept seeing the Seed of Life. This geometric pattern is found in sacred sites all over the world, from the Temple of Osiris in Egypt to the Forbidden City in China. It represents the primal language of the universe - pure shape and proportion. It is made of seven overlapping circles or spheres.

It’s fun to draw this pattern using a compass. Playing with the circles to grow this pattern gives you a feel for how all life unfolds. This video is a quick way to see how the Seed of Life pattern is formed and then expanded into the more complex Flower of Life.

The 7 circles found in the Seed of Life mirror our seven chakras, the colors of the rainbow and even musical scales! It was Da Vinci who compared it to music, pointing out that the distance between the spheres is also the same as the distance between notes, drawing a clear correlation between this visual representation and the symmetry of sound. The seed pattern forms a foundation upon which the infinite, fractal nature of life can be understood.

I wondered what it would feel like to create the Seed of Life pattern in one of my chakras, in three dimensions. I began in my third chakra, the solar plexus, and filled it with golden light, imagining a transparent soap bubble. The sphere expanded until the top edge reached my heart and the bottom edge rested on my belly button. Then, the golden bubble made a copy of itself and moved down until its center rested on my belly button. This shape is called the Vesica Pisces and represents the birthing place of ideas. And from there, the bubbles kept forming and the pattern unfolded like the petals of a flower. I found myself humming with energy. It was so cool that I created a guided meditation for you to try out for yourself! You can watch below on YouTube or download from my Resources page.

Once the Seed of Life comes alive inside of you, the pattern wants to grow and expand. You might find, like I did, that a new Seed forms in your root chakra; seven bubbles filled with a vibrant red light. And then, another Seed may form in your sacral chakra, this time filled with orange light. And so on… After my meditation, I was enveloped with bubbles and all 7 chakras were dancing with rainbow light. The process felt amazing! If you’re feeling lethargic or depressed, or just want a shot of infinite potential, give this meditation a try.
